I'm trying to keep some semblance of order to my recording and get to the end of China before I jump into Christmas and New Years, so here we go...
Max started and ended his high school basketball career in Shanghai.
SMIC had a pretty good team. There was a lot of height and speed involved, as well as some great coaches.
The scoreboard looked like this on most games:
I loved that Max got to know these kids and that he got to branch out from volleyball a little bit (he couldn't play volleyball there due to eligibility stuff and he hasn't played much basketball so this was just the right speed for him).
Maybe it's because I'm his Mom, but it seemed to me like the energy in the gym went up a few notches when he was in the game. He even did some things that had the crowd laughing like this jump ball at the beginning of one of the games:
The other kid took one look at Max and I guess decided he would just save his energy.
My favorite game was the one where he made 27 points.
