There are so many little things that make life rich and rewarding and they are sometimes the toughest things to capture. I'm going to start trying to do regular "little things" posts to keep up on the day-to-day over here.
Lu and I made Thanksgiving thank-you notes:
Crazy hair day rolled around at the elementary school once again. We got creative with Grace's braids this time around:
(That's a hanger in there holding those puppies up.)
We rode bikes together to school. It was fun to scope out some of the other crazy hair-dos when we got there.
This was my view from the Costco parking lot a couple weeks ago caught with my iPhone:
This was the view of the front of our house that same day a little earlier:
Yeah, we see more and more of these boys all the time. They crack me up.
Claire got to do a cheerleading camp at the high school Dave attended back in the day.
She did it with her cousin:
She was what'cha call excited about it.
Our dear friend who found us through the internet and helped us through the roughest time when we first found out Lucy's syndrome had a business trip near where we live.
He came for a visit.
Do you think the girls like him?
He is one of the smartest people I know...a good person to have on your side when you're trying to research and try to figure out how to deal with the things that some along with a very rare syndrome.
Elle and her volleyball team got a big trophy:
Claire was "sick" one day so she stayed home from school with Lu and me.
Man alive it made me wish she could be here every single day with me (and Lu, who also wishes the same thing).
We planted flowers in our very neglected flower spot:
And saw Lucy off on the bus together:
And then we snuggled and read a little bit.
Oh man I love that girl.
Grace did some more gathering:She had a cute friend who helped her gather boys this time along with the girls.
Whoa! Are we really ready for that??
Lu can make her own low-fat-almond-butter sandwiches:
Dave and his friend took their daughters (who happen to be the best of friends) on a camping trip. How fun is that??
They had quite a few neighbor boys willing to help them pack up.
I wish I had taken better pictures of the contents of that trailer. Boy they could have camped for two weeks with all the stuff they brought for one night.
Max played more volleyball tournaments:Although their team isn't the best one on the block, they're still pretty fun to watch.
This is a field we passed on the way to some carpool:
...and here it is on the way home:I thought it was beautiful.
Other little things not in pictures:
I turned in our Christmas card to be printed and shouted out a little "hallelujah" yelp.
We got new Young Women leaders after some got split out of our congregation.
We are missing so many great girls and leaders but got some new really great ones too.
My hair is falling out in handfuls and I'm trying to figure out what in the world to do about it.
I swear Max can eat more than any other human-being I know.
Max has grown literally three inches in the last couple months.
I started Christmas shopping. I did the "hallelujah" on that one too.
