I did it.
I dusted off the wheat grinder and finally made bread (those who brought us the most delicious home-made bread after I wrote about how much I wanted to make it here will be glad to know I finally got my act together...thanks again by the way for that!!).
I've got no excuses not to make it now that I got my dream Bosch mixer for Mother's Day (thanks Dave).
...And I have little helpers I can boss around to get me the stuff I need.
The first batch didn't go so well. Guess which one it was:Yeah, if you think you can't mess up bread, I'm living proof that yes, you sure as heck can.
Note to self: don't scald the yeast next time by putting the water in microwave.
When that happens you get hard-as-a-rock bricks of bread. So I threw them away and started right over again (except this one because I kinda like it).
I must admit, the second batch was pretty good. It actually melted in my mouth.
And my house still smells so delicious I wish I could just bottle it all up and let a little out each day.
