I love blogs

I do, I just love them. First of all, to me it's very therapeutic to write down my thoughts. It's like if I write them down they can stay put, there where I write them, instead of churning around in my head and I can think more clearly. Plus, if you're frustrated and you write down how you feel in your blog you get the sweetest, most inspirational comments (if anyone out there ever feels overwhelmed go read those from my last post...man, they will make you feel better), AND your sweet friend may bring you over delicious cookies, AND your husband may call you just to ask if everything's ok...twice. At first I didn't make the blog connection, and just thought he was being extra thoughtful. You see, my husband, although amazing and sensitive and thoughtful in so many ways, is quite one-tracked and gets so busy at work that he rarely answers the phone, let alone picks it up and calls me. So the second time he called I put two and two together and asked if he was calling because of the blog. He made me laugh because I've been telling him for months that I've been feeling overwhelmed but voila, write it in cyberspace and he's got my full attention. So, hurray for blogs. I just want to keep it real because sometimes I think blogs tend to make people up to seem like they are perfect and life is full of rainbows and butterflies, but life is real, with ups and downs, and that's what makes it so great.

Another reason I love blogs is that I get so inspired as a mother. There are so many amazing thoughts out there from so many wonderful mothers and non-mothers alike that completely inspire me. I love being connected with ideas, and there are a billion enlightening ones out there. So thank you to all you great bloggers.

I'm off to finish my 76th load of laundry (at least it seems like the 76th...or 89th), but I'm going to do it in un-overwhelmed fashion and teach my sweet girl the letter "L" while we fold the mountains of clean clothes.

  4. Amen to all the other comments from your last post! I was so amazed after i read your last post, i would have to say that Shawni Pothier is on the top of my list for probably one of the most "got it together moms", i know! You totally inspire me & make me evaluate the kind of mom i am. I could go on & on but i won't, the bottom line is that you are an amazing example to a lot of mothers out there... keep up the great job you have done & are still doing! You guys have GREAT kids!

  6. i think you've definitely got the right perspective of blogs and to me you seem to be one of those moms who TOTALLY has it all together. at least your children look happy and isn't that what we're all after? sometimes we just look at others, see one aspect of their lives that we admire, and assume that because they do that one thing really well they must do everything else perfectly too. we all have our different strengths. and it's great to be able to praise our friends' strengths without feeling badly that they're not necessarily our own. at least that's what i'm trying to do. your blog has helped! so i say...keep on bloggin'!

  7. I stumbled across your blog after being on the Values Parenting site. I absolutely love the look of your photos. If you don't mind, would you mind telling what kind of camera you use? I am looking to buy a new one and I love the pics of your kids. BTW do you use photo editing software as well?
