Lucy's smile & Gracie's Father's Day card

I just had to post my new favorite picture of Lucy. I am so in love with this baby...Dave looks at me like I'm wacky sometimes because I can't stop talking about how incredible it is that we get to have this fifth baby. I was sitting at church the other day with her on my lap looking at me, straddling my legs. She was just looking up at me smiling with this smile in this picture. And it made me just ache that before long I won't be able to hold her like that anymore, feel her squishy chubby arms and watch her cheeks jiggle as I jostle her around a bit. If I could only bottle up this stage. I can hardly stand that she keeps growing and then she gets even better.

I had to post this card Grace made for Dave for Father's Day. I just told her to go write a note to Dad and she came back with this. Talk about heart melter...Ok, and just a couple more of Lu and the kids...

  1. I can't get enough of that first picture of Lucy. Way too cute. I've never seen such an infectious smile before. Shawn, your pictures are amazing. I'm starting to figure out my camera and way too anxious to know everything at once. I need help. Any suggestions on how to go about it? What should I learn first? I love the lighting in your pictures. I'd love to pick your brain about that. Well, love you. Maybe I'll pay for you to fly out here and give me lessons.
    Love you,

  2. Oh how I wish I could take pictures like you!

Thanks for keeping this site updated . It's helps us stay up to date all the way out here in San Fran!

  3. your little Lucy is adorable (as well as your other kids) I can't wait to see you soon.

  4. Shawni, I love the new look of 71toes. It is bright and beautiful. How was the beach? We had a great time and wasn't it so nice to be cool for the 4rth? It would of been more fun with your family there.

  5. I love Lucy! Ha ha, that wasn't on purpose...but Im sure you hear that a lot. Your kids are so cute! Im coming out there in maybe we can get the family all, Karen
